Hi

My name is Ben Heylen, passionate about aviation in general.

As a kid I grew up on an airfield where my parents had a cosy chalet. Weekends and holidays were spent there so my father could fly his beloved gliders. I was lucky enough to fly with my dad almost every weekend. At the age of 15, I started flying officially and got my license the same year.

​

Within the glider scene, I love to fly local competitions and long distances. I am a theoretical knowledge and flight instructor and also rated on touring motor gliders. Recently I acquired my private pilot license and wish to pursue a professional career.  Currently I am studying for my ATPL theory whilst doing time building, combining this with a parttime job as flight operations officer at Reni Aviation.

 

Apart from flying, I find great pleasure in optical maintenance of our aircraft.

Within the gliding community, most maintenance is done by the owners or flying club members.

Because I was frequently asked to transform my detailing talents onto one's glider,

it got me thinking of starting my own business.

So, we can deffinetly say that BenSky is a hobby that got out of hand.
